Note:4/1/1994 – no time noted – {April 1 through April 7 1994} RA Hutchinson observed fresh 8 meter fan of sulfur mixed with clays deposited from the vents – placed a marker found washed away Apr 2 – snow bank in the alcove found to have pits from melting snow from minor eruption estimated 4-5 meters – icicles on small trees and needles beginning to turn reddish brown from scalding water – water levels observed suggested another minor had occurred 2-3 hrs before arrival. Checked again Apr 7. - northern fissure vent was in superheated boiling and discharge under the boardwalk at least 4 times greater than that observed in Hutchinson’s 24 years – also noted also more spiny sinter deposits & rock fragments were disrupted north & west of the fissure vents & that more sulfur deposits had been eroded over the last 4 days from the larger northern fissure.
