| Note: | 06/18/1974 1300 Don White up from OF to collect water sample (10 gallons) from Emerald Spring. Also did depth-temperature profiles on Emerald and Steamboat. Emerald Spring is 25’ deep and 105ºC (221ºF) at the bottom. Steamboat sets a new probe depth record – 85’ (old record 77’ in Lion Geyser at OF). Max temp was 112ºC (234ºF) at 70’. These measurements were made in the SE vent. |
