Note:08/08/1964 Checked it about midnight last night. At that time it was having some good minor eruptions. Also, the H20 in the No. vent was about 6’ from the top, which in the S. vent it was only several feet from the top. This morning the H20 in the N. vent was about 12’ from the top and was about 6-8’ from the top in the S. vent. According to all indications the S. vent has put out quite a lot of H20 this morning. Gas pressure in SB’s runoff channel much reduced this AM over yesterday. At 10:15 water level was way down in both vents. Eruptive pattern in AM appeared much like that ordinarily seen on 5th day – almost constant minor activity in So. Vent. At 5:30p.m. water in No. vent had risen to where it was 6’-8’ below rim. The No. vent was very inactive all afternoon. MAJOR ERUPTION 9:10 p.m.
