Comments: | Bijou very strong and steamy all afternoon with no pauses, Mastiff splashing nonstop from the front vent. At 1935 Mastiff began filling, still splashing and bursting; Bijou did not weaken in the slightest. Feather started at 1937, not very strong, with Mastiff boiling quietly just at overflow. At 1939 SW vents and Feather Satellite came on, and Mastiff began surging; Bijou went into steam phase. Mastiff built quickly to cone height, and then into full eruption at 1940. Mastiff erupted for three minutes and then stopped, drained, and resumed its small bursting play while Bijou reverted to its former strong water phase. After a long, quiet four minutes of what looked like hot-period aftermath, Mastiff built back up to full eruption at 1947, with Giant following at 1949. |
