Comments: | From Ralph Taylor in the Oct 1997 Sput: "The eruption was witnessed by Alan Friedman who notified several of us in time to see at least most of the eruption. The eruption followed a lower Mortar minor at about 05:00 and came in a cycle that was considered by F&M experts to be a poor candidate for an eruption {i.e. they left}. The eruption occurred on a rejuvenation with no pause. Total time for the initial play was only 12 minutes. The eruption was heavily Mortar dominated although Fan reached across the road." It was listed in the Sput as erupting on Sept 2, but I think that's an error given that the logbook lists an interval that fits with the previous August 26 eruption.
