Comments: | First observed at approx. 1005, prior to that time, several Little Cubs, Plumes, and Old Faithful durations were observed. Therefore, it is my opinion {author not stated} that the first observed Cascade was close to the first eruption of that geyser. In addition, approx. 1030 that morning the geyser was observed from Chinese Spring by George Borneman who said that the water coming from Cascade was chocolate brown and stained the Firehole River brown within a distinctly delineated zone after each eruption. Later in that day, such staining was not observed indicating that Cascade first erupted close to the time George saw it before clearing its new channels. |
