R 1651 to end pause of 35 min. G 1700. A 1704. Frying Pan on strong at 1708. Water levels were terrible until a few minutes after Frying Pan started, then UM began to have small surges and levels in Fan improved. By 1718 levels looked good to excellent, but never reached lock. Then UM began surging in earnest and Fan levels dropped. There were two big, sustained UM surges over the cone. The second initiated the eruption. |
