| Comments: | Details sketchy due to poor lighting. Bottom Vent spritzing ~2025. River cough 2029, on for less than 2 minutes. Then Fan was quiet until ~2040 when Angle came on very noisily. During this time Bottom cycled up and down, getting higher each time until there were some thicker splashes and audible water in Lower Mortar. ~2045 River on. ~2050 checked with light for water in Gold and High but there was only steam. ~2100 checked again, Gold definitely on but couldn't see water levels due to thick steam. 2121 heard High making sounds like it was jetting, turned on light to confirm and also saw lots of steam in Back Vents/Frying Pan area. Variable water in Gold. 2122 High and Gold both strong, nearly called a lock. 2123 High dropped, but almost immediately there was water in Upper Mortar. It followed with 2 surges within the cone about 40 seconds apart at 2124. 2125 minor vents had lost water but there was another huge surge in UM that kept building until it was erupting ~10' above the cone. This held for ~20 seconds before Lower Mortar, Main, and East started simultaneously at 2126. |
