Comments:Colloidal Pools South end of Colloidal Pool erupted violently to height of twenty-five feet, lasting for about forty-five seconds. Brown muddy water was thrown well up on the sides of surrounding pit, August 15 at 5:15 p.m. [Also in YNN Vol 20 #4]

Turner writes in Yellowstone Nature Notes XX(4), pg. 12: "A violent explosive eruption took place this afternoon at 5:15 p.m. in the southern end of Colloidal Pool. Thick brown mud was thrown to a height of about 25 feet. The eruption lasted about 45 seconds for the benefit of a bus party tour in the basin at the time. It served well as an example of the variability of most of our thermal features. Normally, Colloidal Pool is a large vigorously boiling 'murky' pool."
