Comments:nps radio report "first large pool at biscuit basin...large explosion,,,lots of debris. no injuries calling geology to determine what happened. closing basin for now." Video appears to be 400+' thermal explosion.

I ran crude calculations (crude in the sense of not taking camera properties into account) from a video taken at Jewel. It's 185 meters from the edge of Black Diamond. Fullscreen (1440px) the tallest (visible) jet took up 880px, or 61.1...% of the frame. Multiply that by the 185 meters and it resulted in a height of 113 meters (371 feet). As, based on Google Earth, there's a 5-meter elevation drop from Jewel to Black Diamond which isn't visible in the video, it adds up to 118 meters (387 feet). Again note this is from one point of view with otherwise unknown camera properties, but I find it interesting nonetheless that the 118 meters/387 feet calculation comes close to this 400-foot+ mark.

A visitor kindly shared me their video of this. Timing a rock falling from near the top (and then adding a bit) also puts this in the high 300' range, or perhaps slightly over 400'. Timestamp also shows 0953 as the time of the eruption.
