Individual spurts during the day reached perhaps 100 feet, though the majority were more nearly 20 to 30 feet. The algae, so colorful around the crater normally, were all killed by 8:00 a.m. Perhaps that fact indicates that Giantess started playing early August 9. The Vault was almost completely drained. Teakettle was lowered about two foot at 10:00 a.m. Play was completed at 9:30 a.m. August 13. |
