From pg. 18 in the Marler (1970) report: "The one on the 28th was water-phase in type, lasting for near 36 hours. The eruption on August 28 was accompanied by a condition I had never previously observed. This was the first I had ever noted Vault to be active during an eruption of Giantess. During the 28th I observed 3 eruptions of Vault. Two lasted 29 and 30 minutes respectively. The duration of the third was undetermined. When erupting not in concert with Giantess, Vault's eruptions only last for about 4 minutes. The action of Vault greatly decreased the forcefulness of the rocketing of Giantess. On the 29th Vault was quiescent and Giantess put on its usual display."
