| Comments: | Valentine ended its water phase shorter thereafter. Whether this eruption of Guardian preceded was coincident with or very shortly followed that of Valentine is not known. Guardian had 2 progressively weaker eruptions at 2247 and 2255 -each lasting approx 1 minute and 45 seconds. As before the steam phase followed each eruption into the next. Guardian did not erupt again at least up to 11:15 PM when observations were terminated. However a small marker was placed above it just to check if it goes again during the night. One point of interest which may or may not be related to these eruptions is that one steam vent below Ledge seemed to be noisier than usual and at 11:13 PM Dark Cavern erupted at its maximum “power”. |
