13915 10 Oct 2019 @ 1620 --- underarockphoto In roaring steam still
13872 04 Oct 2019 @ 1230 --- underarockphoto Steaming. Roaring surge every few minutes that was audible from Whirligig. Pool is almost empty.
13796 24 Sep 2019 @ 1445 24 Sep 2019 @ 1650 DanS Red main vent heavy steam with water spritzing to 10+ feet. Trail very wet.
13745 19 Sep 2019 @ 0751 --- bbev Roaring steam heard from parking lot and museum. Jetsum remains 2' below overflow and pressure pool has dropped to nearly empty, 18" below overflow.
13737 18 Sep 2019 @ 1600 --- bbev Ellen's video clearly shows red vent jetting water 50+'. 1600: forceful steam from valve and red vents. runoff channels are all wet. Jetsum pool is 2' below overflow, and palm pressure pool is 6-8" below overflow.
13561 04 Sep 2019 @ 0823 --- novakg Very noisy steam heard from Constant bench.
13240 14 Aug 2019 @ 1115 --- cb Ledge is cycling forceful steam - quiet moments back to steam and then quiet. Palm pool is empty and dry. Jetsam is down 2.5', its side vent is spitting water 6" and the vent on the west end of the pool has bubbles breaking the surface. Valve is gently steaming.
13139 09 Aug 2019 @ 2048 --- hurleyintjl When walking back from steamboat to check it’s activity I heard the steamphase of ledge from emerald, then I walked down to porcelain basin and saw that ledge geyser was in a vigorous and loud steam phase. Didn’t see much water downhill from it so I can’t confirm it was a water eruption or just steam phase alone.
12895 31 Jul 2019 @ 1030 --- cb powerful and loud steam only. minimal water in runoff channel. Seems to cycle in volume. Jetsum & Palm pools are high (full) valve in steam.
12847 28 Jul 2019 @ 0556 28 Jul 2019 @ 0600 ypcaribou Audible steam ftom empty parking lot at 0530. Spraying steam from 3 vent, forcefully from "white" disc vent, cyclical forceful increases from what used to be red vent mixed with a bit of spritz. Kept that up as I walked around Porcelain.
12548 20 Jul 2019 @ 1000 --- cb Ledge is doing the same cyclic behavior of steam (not loud) to mixed steam/water phase and then back to all steam without much of a pause inbetween. Palm pool is down 2' and Jetsum is down about 2'. Valve has steam with a bit of water and is putting water down into the Palm pool. To this observer, the runoff channels show no indication of a full blown water eruption of Ledge. More so, they are a result of the constant runoff since April 28th steam phase only "thing".
12520 15 Jul 2019 @ 2127 --- Archer Ledge is in vigorous steam phase.
12490 15 Jul 2019 @ 0744 --- cb In steam. No water seen in the steam. some water in runoff channel and down to meet the main Porcelain runoff channel. Palm pool down 2". Jetsam down 4"
12106 02 Jul 2019 @ 1900 02 Jul 2019 @ 2023 DanS Ledge steaming and throwing variable amounts of water from both white and main vents.
12086 02 Jul 2019 @ 1916 02 Jul 2019 @ 2011 nails Less water mixed with steam than noted on 6/30. Occasional nearly quiet pauses with only gentle wafting steam. Vent upslope between Ledge and Valentine/Guardian alcove joined in with mostly noisy steam and a brief bit of water at 1934.
12053 30 Jun 2019 @ 1741 30 Jun 2019 @ 1937 nails Intermittent light water noisily mixed with steam. Vent uphill between Ledge and Valentine/Guardian alcove joined in at 1800, 1904, 1931.
11828 16 Jun 2019 @ 1056 --- cb ledge's water cycles have more water, its eruptions are broader and taller than last observed. Water cycles begin with steam phase hissing followed closely with jetting water 15' - 25' then more steam hissing, more water and then a VERY brief, 10 - 20s, quiet period. cycles resume quickly thereafter.
11489 02 Jun 2019 @ 0540 --- Graham White vent putting out noisy hissing steam roars every few seconds. Gentle steam from Red vent. Pressure Pool is full.
11384 27 May 2019 @ 1704 --- jkgood Fine jetting up to ten feet out of red vent
11348 24 May 2019 @ 1829 --- bbev Mixed water and steam, water spritzing to 10+' at times. Palm pool overflowing. Hole between palm and red vent nearly overflowing. Jetsum just at overflow.
11311 22 May 2019 @ 1706 --- cb ledge is still huffing/hissing a steam water mix. More water in the mix than last observed but it is still a thin stream of water mixed in with much more steam. heights of 8' - 10'. Palm pool high and starting to overflow. The water level in the hole between Palm and Ledge is high and has some runoff. Valve is steaming.
11279 18 May 2019 @ 2040 --- Kyle intermittent "swooshing" light steam from both white and red vents. no water visible
11245 15 May 2019 @ 0950 15 May 2019 @ 1405 cb Ledge is alternating between semi quiet state to hissing mixed water/steam phase. The water in this mixed steam/water phase is a thin veil of water that is 4' - 8' high mixed in with the hissing steam. The runoff channel is wet with some pooling in the flats. Palm Pressure Pool is very low - down 4 - 5'. Jetsum pool is high and almost overflowing through the channel on the SE end. There is a hole between the Palm Pressure pool and Valve vent that I've not noticed before.
11174 05 May 2019 @ 0950 05 May 2019 @ 1003 bbev Red vent cycling from quiet to soft roaring steam about every 15sec. Side hill vents can be heard gurgling and water seen out of both. Upper vent most active. Palm pressure pool down 8-10" below overflow. Jetsum unchanged.
11157 03 May 2019 @ 1924 03 May 2019 @ 1933 cb Ledge continues to get quieter. Still in steam phase with audible roar but we can speak in low tones and still hear each other. Palm Pressure pool is 2 - 3" lower. Jetsum pool a boil with bubbles on the west end of the pool. Valve Vent is still in steam.
11143 02 May 2019 @ 0928 --- MAB still roaring from both vents
11141 01 May 2019 @ 2025 01 May 2019 @ 2100 ypcaribou Audible roaring heard from quiet, empty parking lot on arrival at 2025, from museum at 2055, and from lot again at 2100.
11122 01 May 2019 @ 0804 01 May 2019 @ 0820 cb still in steam phase. quieter but still can be clearly heard from the Ranger Station
11124 30 Apr 2019 @ 1000 --- cb Still in LOUD steam phase
11119 29 Apr 2019 @ 0755 --- cb did a quick parking lot drive through as we could still see alot of steam in the Ledge area as we passed Elk Park. Stopped and can still hear Ledge in steam phase. LOUD STEAMPHASE! No time before work to walk down.
11026 20 Apr 2019 @ 0917 --- MAB Valve vent in very wet, noisy forced steam.
10725 04 Nov 2018 @ 0905 --- MAB While watching water spritzing out of Valve (finger-white) vent, I suddenly noticed Black Growler was quiet. Totally. Zip-nada-nothing. Walking on, it came back on as I was just about at Basin Geyser.
9868 25 Aug 2018 @ 1051 --- cb The Pit (Palm pool) is high and clear. Valve is spritzing water to 8" and a bit thicker than on 8/22. A wisp of steam observed from Ledge. Jetsam pool is high and green in color but its side vent that was very active earlier this year is only sending out small convection waves.
9830 22 Aug 2018 @ 1730 --- cb the white heart shaped feature (Valve?) to the left of Ledge is spitting water and Ledge is lightly steaming.
9828 22 Aug 2018 @ 1723 --- MAB The Pit (Palm) pool is filling, it has been ugly dry most of the summer. Water is spritzing out of the Valve vent, sometimes heavy. Saw steam from Ledge main vent. What's next?
3183 02 Jul 2016 @ 1027 --- MAB 1027 and throughout day - spritzing from White Vent. Water has returned to Black Growler too but not enough to kill the yellow/green near upper vent
3081 16 Jun 2016 @ 1014 --- MAB Ledge totally dry of course but White Vent emitted a harsh steam whistle when I walked by, then it subsided.
2594 31 Oct 2015 @ 1000 --- MAB The penultimate Ledge note! The Pit overflowing into 1/4 full Jetsam. Fairly good water from White Vent. Nothing seen from Red Vent. Jetsam shoulder vent active.
2587 29 Oct 2015 @ 1325 29 Oct 2015 @ 1340 billwarnock Steam and occasional water from White; no water, light steam only from Red during my short stay. Pit full and overflowing into 3/4 full Jetsam. No water seen from Black Growler. Light snow and COLD.
2577 24 Oct 2015 @ 1735 --- MAB Day Two-ish?: Jetsam about 18" below full. The Pit very empty, below the rolled log sign. Red Vent calmly steaming. White Vent formation is dry, the actual vent orifice looks wetter than yesterday. Forced steam from Black Growler but no water seen.
2504 10 Oct 2015 @ 1658 10 Oct 2015 @ 1822 Siegmund Pressure pool overflowing. White vent emitting steam mixed with a few water droplets. Red vent dry and quiet. Jetsam nearly full, Jetsam sputs active. All in all -- just like White Vent looked last year when it was dormant.
2482 05 Oct 2015 @ 1030 05 Oct 2015 @ 1852 MAB On arrival Jetsam 1/2 full with just the 'nib' of the formation showing. Good water in White vent seen at various times thru the day. Leaving at 1851 Jetsam had filled to 3/4 full, the formations all completely covered. Green around the base of White vent continues to grow. But what I wanna know is what is cycling that I see Jetsam empty or full?
2458 02 Oct 2015 @ 1120 02 Oct 2015 @ 1325 MAB The Pit overflowing, Jetsam completely empty. Water in White vent good at times. Runoff from Black Growler is slight and channel turning green. Slight green around the outside base of White vent
2439 29 Sep 2015 @ 0913 29 Sep 2015 @ 0925 billwarnock No Ledge eruption and situation the same: No water from Red Vent; sporadic water and steady steam from White; Pit still overflowing and Jetsam more than 3/4 full now. Appears to be back in sleep mode.
2432 27 Sep 2015 @ 1650 27 Sep 2015 @ 1800 MAB From 3/4 full 2 days ago, Jetsam completely empty. Leaving at 1800 water activity in White vent actually looked pretty good. It occurred to me that we shouldn't rule out the No-Steam Phase eruptions (two seen this year) and keep an eye on water levels in Jetsam if it is seen brim full and all vents quiet. There may be some odd-ball eruptions still possible.
2419 25 Sep 2015 @ 1720 25 Sep 2015 @ 1740 billwarnock Ledge has not gone. NO water at all, just light steam in Red Vent; some water with steady steam from White. Pit full and overflowing; Jetsam still 3/4 full AND the shoulder vent was quite vigorous unlike a couple of days ago. Rangers said MA was there for Whirligig around 1700, but she didn't answer radio call. She may have more to report.
2409 23 Sep 2015 @ 0900 23 Sep 2015 @ 1200 billwarnock Now into day 11...NO water in Red with light steam, very light water and steady steam from White; Pit full and overflowing; Jetsam 3/4 full--practically no splashing in shoulder vents, I went off to check other features before coming back before noon. It looks as if it MAY have finished its series.
2404 22 Sep 2015 @ 1940 --- MAB Day Ten - at 1100 Pit was in overflow, Jetsam was higher than last night. Over the course of the day Jetsam continued filling, covering all formations. Water in White looked OK. Formation below Red was wet, but that could have come from Black Growler or drift from White - - I never saw any water from Red, but I didn't dally there on my mission to study Whirligig's new incarnation of vent indicators. Not sure when my next visit will be!
2400 21 Sep 2015 @ 0930 21 Sep 2015 @ 1748 MAB Day Nine - White vent was putting out a little water, Red vent steaming. Jetsam half full (half empty?), but might have filled a bit with those spritzes over the course of the day. The Pit not in overflow. The water in White looked much better when I left, totally wetting the white shell-like formation, but not what I would have called "good water" last week
2393 20 Sep 2015 @ 1900 --- ypcaribou White vent wet on arrival at 1845 but no splashes. By 1900 it was having short (in height) 3 second bursts every 7 to 12 seconds. Red vent had gentle wisps of steam but no water. Pit full but not overflowing. Jetsam low but shoulder vents splashing.
2382 19 Sep 2015 @ 0645 --- Barbara Lasseter No visible water in any vent. Pit is 1/2 mudflat. Steam not very forceful in white vent, very gentle wafting from red vent. Jetsam very low.
2375 18 Sep 2015 @ 1730 --- MAB Day Six: No water in White or Red observed all day. Steam ranged from gentle to periodic louder forced steam from both. The Pit is full but not overflowing. Active Jetsam shoulder vents had noisy water sounds though, it wasn't completely devoid of activity.
2371 17 Sep 2015 @ 1103 17 Sep 2015 @ 1403 LotusBaker white & red breathing with no water when we arrived pit looked full at 2 red only breathing with no water pit still full rangers had no record of any thing since the 12th
2354 15 Sep 2015 @ 1758 --- MAB Day Three - water had returned to Black Growler. No spritzing from White or Red vents, and formation wetness and pool levels not applicable due to heavy rains. I cannot go again until Day 6.
2339 13 Sep 2015 @ 1000 --- Jake still steam phasing.
2336 12 Sep 2015 @ 0821 --- Kitt B ? - mixing with steam at 0818? Do you mean 0918?
2327 12 Sep 2015 @ 0810 --- Graham Pit almost full, no beach exposed but it's below overflow, maybe an inch or two. Lots of water from White. Lots of smoke. Could not see Red
2321 11 Sep 2015 @ 1830 --- MAB Water returned to the system between 1030-1230, from completely dry to a moist White vent and beginning to slowly fill the Pit. When I left at 1830, the Pit water level had risen to about 2 feet from the rolled log sign, or about 18" below the rim on the south side.
2319 11 Sep 2015 @ 1430 --- Graham Pit still very low. White continuous steam with water 50%of the time. Red having small splashes 2 to 4 min apart. Better than yesterday but still not ready.
2316 10 Sep 2015 @ 1240 --- Graham Pit very low. Frequent steam huffs from White and Red vents but no water.
2276 06 Sep 2015 @ 1515 --- Tara No Ledge yet as of 1515 when I left radio range. At 1450, the Pit was near the rim but not quite overflowing. Jetsam had visible water but was low. White Vent was pretty juicy, and Red Vent had some large splashes with enough water to make runoff every 2-10 minutes.
2273 06 Sep 2015 @ 0815 --- RMichaels Water in pit noticeably higher even since 0600 (but still below overflow). Good water from white vent and some splashes from red. Jetsam appears to be rising.
2271 06 Sep 2015 @ 0600 --- RMichaels Pit has come up significantly since last night (now about 1 foot from overflow). Consistent water from white vent. Jetsam still low.
2268 05 Sep 2015 @ 1100 --- Graham Pit very low, water divided in 2 pool's. White light steam. Jetsum way down.
2259 04 Sep 2015 @ 1000 04 Sep 2015 @ 1725 MAB DaveM and I checked Ledge on Day Four. Dry. The Pit was lower at 1720 than it was at 1000, just two connected 18" circles that look like large sunglasses. Jetsam's shoulder vents were active, and Black Growler was moist and putting out a little water, but not much. The wettest White Vent was all day was after a soaking thunderstorm. In short, it's not ready yet.
2255 04 Sep 2015 @ 0815 04 Sep 2015 @ 0825 RLJones Pressure Pool & Jetsam Pool both were near empty, no water in either White or Red vents, intermittent steam from White vent.
2221 30 Aug 2015 @ 1905 --- Tara Water level in Pit about 1 foot below overflow level on the north side. Visible water in Jetsam but low. Side spouter weakly active. Intermittent water and moderate steam in White Vent. One small splash in Red in about 10 minutes of observation.
2217 29 Aug 2015 @ 1920 --- MAB Stopped in morning and evening - this morn The Pit was as low as I have seen it, particularly on "Day Four". This evening if it could be possible it was lower! White vent had periodic forced dry steam, I didn't stay to time them to see if they were regular. I can't go tomorrow, I hope someone can check it and we might find out when (if?) water returns to the system and White starts spritzing again.
2184 24 Aug 2015 @ 0930 --- SteveO No Ledge yet.

2177 22 Aug 2015 @ 1800 --- MAB No Ledge as of 1800. Strong water from White. Occasional slaps/splashes from Red. The Pit 4" below overflow at 1800, Day 5 + 2hrs
2130 16 Aug 2015 @ 1850 --- MAB Water from White vent increased in late afternoon, the Pit fill was slow, but I did see progress when I left at 1850. It was up to the lower edge of the rolled-log-sign.
2128 16 Aug 2015 @ 1235 --- decooper Arrived to Ledge at 8 or so, Jepsam was low, White Vent had more steam than water, and saw Red vent splash once after watching it an hour. After returning from Vixen around 11 the situation had not changed.
2088 11 Aug 2015 @ 0739 --- JSJ Basically quiet.
2078 10 Aug 2015 @ 1310 --- Kitt B Pit/Pressure Pool very low. No water from White Vent. Jetsum almost empty.
2101 10 Aug 2015 @ 1200 --- Micah Kipple No Ledge yet. Periodic huffing and some spray from red Vent. Palm and Jetsom Pools are both low.
2027 06 Aug 2015 @ 1642 --- billwarnock Bob Jones called me by satellite phone at 1610 to report no Ledge yet. Red Vent is splashing water every 4 minutes on average. Pit is full and overflowing into Jetsam. He'll call again if there is an eruption.
2026 06 Aug 2015 @ 1602 --- Polly No Ledge as of 1300.
2024 06 Aug 2015 @ 0730 06 Aug 2015 @ 0750 RLJones Same as previous report except one splash out of Red vent to about 12 above rim.
2023 06 Aug 2015 @ 0630 06 Aug 2015 @ 0645 RLJones Never seen Ledge erupt so take this with a few grains of salt. White was in continuous steam with water spray to about 10in 60% of time. Pool about 5ft in front of White about 8in below it's inner rock rim. No over vents showing steam or water.
2020 05 Aug 2015 @ 1950 --- Jake Pit 18" below overflow. White vent just steam, no water. Red Vent no splashes in the 5 minutes of observation. Finger and Shoulder vents throwing some water.
2005 01 Aug 2015 @ 1840 01 Aug 2015 @ 1940 Tara No Ledge yet as of 1940. Large, sustained Red Vent surges were occurring about every 5 minutes from 1845-1901, much larger than on July 30. They were putting out floods of runoff and reaching 5-7 feet above the cone. There was not a pause but there seemed to be a slowdown from 1901-1931, when only 1 splash during that time produced runoff. There was a lot more water in the system than what I saw 46 hours earlier on July 30, the best activity in White Vent was 4-6 feet high and very juicy. White would have a push of steam whenever Red splashed. Jetsam was about 4-6 inches below the grass on the left side, probably not much higher than what Kitt B. observed at 0715. I did not see much activity from Jetsam's side spouter, but it was splashing occasionally.
2002 01 Aug 2015 @ 0712 --- Kitt B No Ledge yet. Jetsum has filled to about 6 inches from grass on left inside wall. White and Red continue their normal activity.
2001 31 Jul 2015 @ 1200 31 Jul 2015 @ 1715 billwarnock No Ledge as of 17:15 today. Kitt and I crossed paths in the Norris parking lot at noon, and she updated me. All afternoon Red vent continued to have splashes every 1 to 26 minutes, with most in the 3 to 10 minute range. The longest pause was from 15:44 to 16:10, with a good surge at the latter time BUT no eruption. Jetsam is nearly full with peninsula covered. I won't be able to go back until next week. Good luck to any/all who venture there!

1999 31 Jul 2015 @ 0700 --- Kitt B No Ledge yet! Barrett reported an "event" at Ledge that started at 9:40PM last night. Reported Red, White, & Finger Vents put out a lot of water causing Pit (Pressure Pool) to overflow heavily to level of base of White Vent, filling Jetsum which then overflowed through grassy section to left side of Jetsum by about midnight. He said Jetsum slowly drained back down to the point I saw it at 0700 when a very small (~5 inch) triangle at the top of Jetsum's peninsula was visable. This was covered by 0856. Scott G. & I left Ledge at 2130 yesterday, but watched from the area below the museum for another 5 minutes before leaving the parking lot at 2151. Barrett did report that the "event" progressed slowly. Today at 0940, White continues to cycle and Red Vent has splashes to cone filling surges every 5 to 25 minutes.
1997 30 Jul 2015 @ 2140 31 Jul 2015 @ 0530 bsouthworth Lets say there are 5 vents related to Ledge. Main - the one by Jetsam Pool because it used to be the near main erupting vent and I don't like the name thumb. White, Red, Pressure and Finger since the only left is the little finger so I'll drop little. at 9:40 Black Growler? Geyser directly upslope become very active with steam and water output, greater than previous 24 hours. at 9:40 Main started a noticeable continous flow out, at the same time White started a mild roaring steam jet that had some water 1/5th of the time Duration was 8 to 60 seconds with intervals of 1 to 8 seconds. prefering the 8 - 10 second bursts that when it had water only had water for a couple seconds, with intervals of 1 to 2 seconds for 7.5 hours. Over a period of 4 hours it reached it's max volume based on distance to parking lot and it being said it could be heard there, I'd say the max volume was around half that as I've been near some loud geysers 20 to 40 minutes after main started it's overflow, red started a noticeable overflow 20 to 40 minutes after that both red and main had a very noticeable increase in overflow 20 to 40 minutes after that Pressure started to increase overflow to reach the base of white. It took 20 to 40 minutes to reach it's max overflow. 20 to 40 minutes after that Jetsam pool overflowed due to the inflow of water 10 to 20 minutes after that finger started overflowing At this point shining multiple flashlights on White I see a 1 to 2 inch ring of water around it. Thoughts and notes I thought it was from pressure thinking the back of the white mound is the same height as the front. I was corrected later, and seeing the activity of black growler and the steam from white blocking view of water overflow. I think it likely black growler is what caused the upper half of the 1-2 inch water ring as it flowed down hill This ring was around for at least 10 minutes that is max overflow at finger overflow, it laster 30 to 60 minutes then reduced severly in strength for the remaining hours. White reached it's max volume after max overflow ended. Total duration of overflow period is 7.5 hours. Half strength steam phase based on comparison to youtube videos of steam phase lasts about 20 minutes

1961 22 Jul 2015 @ 0945 22 Jul 2015 @ 1340 billwarnock No Ledge as of 1340. Occasional water with steam from White vent; water from Red every 1-5 minutes. Pressure/Pit full and overflowing into a low Jetsam.
1938 18 Jul 2015 @ 0850 18 Jul 2015 @ 0906 MAB Brief stop at Norris enroute to a hike. Good water in White vent. Jetsam very very low. The Pit was overflowing. Occasional splashes from Red vent, but I was down checking on health of Constant and Whirligig from the new boardwalk so can't say how frequent they were. Much to my surprise Ledge was IE in heavy steam phase when I returned at 1600.
1906 14 Jul 2015 @ 0830 --- JimS Barbara reported that Ledge was in steam phase this morning.
1902 13 Jul 2015 @ 1830 --- geysergaze Left ledge at 18:30. Strong frequent splashing no eruption yet
1900 13 Jul 2015 @ 0855 13 Jul 2015 @ 1415 billwarnock No Ledge as the of time I left. MA and Clark still there. Steam and occasional water from White Vent; periodic water from Red. Longest pause in Red was from 0900 t0 0920, then 0937, 0939,0942,0951,0952, 0956, 1007, 1009 (strongest and most sustained), then 1 to 14 min. intervals until 1400. Pressure/Pit was full at 0855 and overflowing into Jetsam. Jetsam shoulder vents splashing, though lower than previous days. Black Growler spashing occasionally.
1897 12 Jul 2015 @ 1910 12 Jul 2015 @ 2010 RMichaels Level of pressure pool was higher this evening, as expected. However, the water level in Jetsam Pool had dropped since this afternoon. Red vent had quite a few short splashes. Overall more water in the system (aside from Jetsam Pool). Pressure pool only a few inches below overflow when I left.
1894 12 Jul 2015 @ 0820 --- RMichaels Watched for several periods between 0820 and 1200. Jetsam Pool nearly empty and pressure pool very low on arrival. Consistent splashing from white vent, occasional splashing from shoulder vent, and very infrequent splashing from red vent. Water level had risen in Jetsam Pool some by the time I left, and water in pressure pool had risen at least 6 inches, but well below overflow. Will swing by again this evening.
1866 08 Jul 2015 @ 0630 --- WillBoekel in steam phase at 0630
