Guardian Geyser, which only plays immediately before or after an eruption of Valentine, was irregular, playing 11 out of the 20 possible times.

6556 15 Jul 1971 @ 0800 --- research-mab 07/15/1971 Valentine Geyser & Guardian Geyser played sometime during the night. There is an increase in steam activity all around the Valentine, especially at Black Growler.
6555 12 Jul 1971 @ 1800 --- research-mab 07/12/1971 Valentine had a steam “eruption” this evening (about 6) which included a small quantity of water which reach [sic] heights of 20 feet. No appreciable amount of runoff. Markers did not need replacing.
6551 01 Jul 1971 @ 0805 --- research-mab 07/01/1971 Valentine marker in place, however it was throwing about 2-3 times as much water out as normal as indicated by the height of the water jets & by the amount of water in the runoff channel at 8:05; all others in place.
