Note:Sunday July 5 1981 - no time noted - Sunday’s eruptions continue to gain strength. Each has some 4-45 foot bursts. Between majors the activity is mostly heavy boils with occasional periods of 3 ft eruptions. The quiet period is sometimes punctuated by minor short eruptions of larger 10 ft bursts. Looking toward Africa, a vent of Sunday to the left of the main vent is erupting to 2 ft or so. The beginning of Sunday’s majors are still synchronous with Africa’s fill. However, they last well after Africa’s drain. Africa’s fill is only sometimes high enough to be seen from the walk, but each time it tries {?}, it has been synchronous with Sunday’s major start.
