Note:"Lakeshore Left" (as I'm calling the new thing not too very far left - that made Lakeshore leave) has opened its vent further. Rangers said it opened up more sometime last week. Plus, it seems another small vent has opened there as well. There seems to be some cycling to it, but unsure if it is directly related to what little cycling is happening in Lakeshore itself as was seen prior to the water level of the lake overtaking the area. The water in Lakeshore Geyser is down about 8-10" but is boiling out of the larger vent at times. I never witnessed any bubbles in the smaller vent. The boiling in the larger vent increases slowly, becomes somewhat vigorous and then flattens out again. Since there wasn't a clear "there it is!" point to it, I can only estimate that this happens every 5-7 minutes. When it is boiling more vigorously, the water level is maybe an inch higher, but still well below overflow. Both the large and small vents are very dry as is the platform except for the low spot between the two vents. There was more steam coming off of the large vent and very little from the small vent. "Lakeshore Left" on the other hand is nearly a perpetual spouter from two points, reaching up 6-8" and is doing some sort of cycling as suddenly while we were watching, it began to pump out quite a bit of water overflowing to the lake. Hoping someone might have time to gather more observations and help keep an eye on this development.
