Comments:Based NPS Steamboat data (start time). YNM seismograph shows noise starting from 2318, which coincides with a drop in temperature on the NPS logger. Spike seen on Tantalus Creek gauge. Duration does not contain any subsequent water phases.

Confirmation based on phone call from Bob Jones, who arrived at Norris at about 0630 and found Steamboat to be in steam phase with some water mixed in to about 80 feet. Cistern had dropped about 3 feet at that time.

Confirmation of eruption. Arrived at 0630. At about 0645 Steamboat was in mixed phase with water out of both vents estimated 60 to 100 ft. Constant heavy runoff down creek. Cistern Spring down 12 to 18 inches. Talked to 3 different couples who had been at Steamboat between 1330 and 1730 yesterday. All reported dry on boardwalks and steamboat in non-erputive state. One couple stated that tree debree on observation platform were not there yesterday.

Still erupting continuous water from both vents with north vent jets hitting 80 -100 feet, south 20 feet max at 13 hours after start. Not in steam phase yet. If I didn't know better I would call this a Steamboat wild phase. To my knowledge this is certainly unprecedented.
