Comments:GeyserTimes has in the past hesitated to add undesignated thermal features to our database because we do not want to contribute to naming confusion. However, we would still like data related to these features to be preserved and easily searchable. We have decided to create a temporary designation format for cases where geysers are (a) established but have not been given an UNNG designation or (b) new and evolving rapidly. These designations are not intended to replace the UNNG system; the hope is that they will allow users to enter data for undesignated features as changes in thermal activity are unfolding. Unless you are citing/directly referring to GeyserTimes data, we discourage use of these designations in reports or articles. If these features later receive an UNNG designation, the feature name will be changed in our database and all previous entries will automatically show the new name. We intend to make documentation of these features accessible on our website. The format will be GT-TD[#]-[nearby, easily recognizable feature with an entrenched name]. Numbers will be unique for each feature. We introduce this format by adding GT-TD1-Aurum to our database. GT-TD1 is the small sput between Beach Geyser and UNNG-GHG-7 that has been informally called "Middle Beach Geyser" and "Grandson of Beach Geyser." Its activity in the last year has been varied and sometimes unrelated to the eruptions of Beach and GHG-7.
