Comments: | Driving by Sylvan Springs on my way home from Madison, l noticed an unfamiliar steam cloud in the meadow just north of Sylvan. Turned around at picnic area, and returned to observe something erupting to what looked like near the tops of the trees behind it. Got some pics and video with my phone, then came back with the scope at 1640. Still erupting, but with the scope, did not appear as tall as l had thought. Appears to be 20-25+', maybe some occasional taller spikes. Geyser is 150-200 meters north of Sylvan thermal area, approximately 25-40 meters into the meadow from the trees. 1930 returned and still in eruption. |
