Note: | 05/31/1978 Steamboat is much quieter today. There was no runoff in the morning (@#$@). When I checked it at 1700 there was …. no overflow, but at 1730, overflow had had started! Again about a gallon a minute. The overflow comes from heavy splashing out of the southeast vent.
We have a permanent Steamboat watcher in the form of a Robin who has built her nest in the lodgepole closest to the lower platform.
Boy will she be in for a surprise when (if?) Steamboat Goes. Anyone for bird nest soup with a few geyser eggs thrown in? Shall call her Mrs Decker? |
