Note:06/24/1978 Observed Steamboat from about 1400 to 1600. Noticed increased activity out of both vents with about a dozen occasions when tremendous surging occurred out of both vents at the same time with the north making 50- 60’ and the south vent 5-10’. Today is the first day since I arrived in April that I have seen such surging out of the south vent. Surges last from 10-15 seconds building up to 5-10’. {another entry→} I agree that Steamboat is hot today. Some runoff had occurred early although it was dry at 13:55. The following is a ten minute pattern of activity starting at 16:00:00. During this time Steamboat seemed quite subdued from the earlier behavior. {burst times not typed here}
