Note: | Note No Dates or Times - {end Sept here]:During most of the season Echinus was apparently not very active, for only seven eruptions were recorded for the period June 19 to August 31. In September the geyser seemed to be more active; five eruptions were recorded for the first four days. A series of three eruptions were observed on September 4, at intervals of almost exactly three hours. It would appear that, during most of the season, the geyser erupted no more frequently than once a day, but in September activity
increased to about every three hours. The observed eruptions indicated the water went to a maximum height of 75 to 80 feet, in 45 to 85 spurts, during a period of 5 to 8 minutes. [See also YNN Vol 28 No 6 p70] |
