| Note: | I came back to Abyss Pool a few times this afternoon on my walk(s) around West Thumb and the surface showed nearly continual upwelling of water with occasional bubbles showing in the center of the pool. The upwelling was stronger than in the past couple of weeks. The bubbles seemed a bit more strong along the edge. Near the overflow by the catch basin had occasional bubbles rising that weren't rising as often as in other spots, but looked larger than they did in the past couple of weeks. Three of the five or six vents above Abyss (across from the boardwalk spur) are open with boiling water. The water level in these pools are the same as in the past couple of weeks. |
