| Note: | Abyss is perhaps a very slight bit hotter. There were more bubbles rising than when I was there two weeks ago and Ranger Stella said it had more bubbles rising than last week. I did see a couple of instances of strong upwelling of water that was strong enough to send out tiny dimples (itty bitty whirlpools) along the edges of it. I haven't witnessed this much at all this year. However, no bubbles were seen from the center of the pool. The water levels in the vents above abyss have continued to drop, but two are actively boiling. One can only be heard with no water drops reaching into view. |
