Note:07/12/1979 Echinus had the weakest eruption I have seen this summer at 0904. The highest bursts were only going 50 to 60 feet. The preboil was very heavy, but of a normal length of 7:38. Duration of eruption was 13:22 followed by a very slow drain of 3:30. The water only dropped 1 foot below the vent. As the pool drained, it “boiled” in two places: one was in front of the whirlpool site and the other was the preboil site.
