| Note: | 10/17/1964 Steamboat on the 18th day seems to be on a “plateau”. There is no apparent difference from yesterday. From 1:09 pm to 1:39 pm, the south vent erupted 30 times, the north vent 8 times. The plays from the south vent were strong & vertical – some reaching 40 feet. No strong plays were seen from the north vent. The water level is still at least 10 feet down. There is steady runoff in the main channel. |
