Note: | 10/18/1964 Steamboat, now 19 days quiet, is about the same as it has been the past several days. From 11:25am to 11:55 am the south vent played 28 times, the north vent 7 times. From 3:51 pm to 4:21 pm, the south vent was active 31 times, the north vent 7 times. (Compare with count on Oct 13 & 17). The plays from the south vent were powerful, the highest 40-50 feet with much volume. The north vent remains weak. Except for the almost complete inactivity of the north vent, Steamboat looks like it did in the summer of 1961. The water level is still 10 feet or more down. Steady runoff is produced in main channel. |
