27618 15 Aug 2023 @ 1540 --- minissa Just to be masochistic, I sat and watched for an hour, but it appears to be stuck in this mode where it's holding just at OF, so lightly overflowing most of the time, but the biscuits remain exposed.
27499 10 Aug 2023 @ 1521 --- minissa In the past 30 minutes, pool has oscillated just enough to allow overflow about 80% of the time then to cut it off for the other 20%
27497 10 Aug 2023 @ 1451 --- minissa High enough to overflow past 10 minutes or so but not high enough for an actual push yet.

24201 03 Oct 2022 @ 1527 --- minissa Just wondered if Oblong might be having one of those odd follow up eruptions. Wc is focused on Sawmill, but what little of Oblong is visible looks a lot more forceful than late post-eruptive steam.
23920 19 Sep 2022 @ 1139 --- ThomasR Post-eruptive with no visible water in crater.
23616 07 Sep 2022 @ 0714 --- Graham Water rising with steady small boil on left side.
23202 15 Aug 2022 @ 1540 --- minissa Push that just ended was strong and clocked at just under 3.5 minutes. Pool level on drain not quite as much of a crash
23201 15 Aug 2022 @ 1423 --- minissa Have been observing since around 1300, actual pushes only 2-3 minutes but are getting progressively stronger accompanied by better boiling from both vents, drains not quite as deep as an hour ago

23144 11 Aug 2022 @ 1748 --- minissa Short push with bubbling mainly from left vent
23143 11 Aug 2022 @ 1719 --- minissa Good if brief push including some vigorous boiling over both vents, followed by a good crash. Otherwise having intermittent periods of weaker OF
23030 04 Aug 2022 @ 1052 --- dandersen Post eruptive pool empty
22929 28 Jul 2022 @ 1945 --- minissa Enormous steam cloud that looked like an eruption from the wc. Can anyone verify or refute? It has had follow up eruptions in the past including one this year, so even with 2043 eruption, this time is a possibility.
22172 27 Jun 2022 @ 2300 --- K.Cooper From 530-7am, NO cycles. I think Oblong went around this time last night.
21954 12 Jun 2022 @ 1520 --- Graham No water visible and some noise. Consistant with 1419ie wc.

17788 14 Jun 2021 @ 1137 14 Jun 2021 @ 1319 Polly Oblong was down (islands visible ~3”) on approach 1137. It rose slowly, with water coming over both spillways by 1147. There was some bubbling center front of pool. Drool started at 1147 all across the usual spots. 1148 dropping & by 1149 I could see about 2” of islands. By 1151, 3” visible (& microburst wind). By 1154 down 3-4”. 1209 up & good overflow right spillway, then left one 1211. Drool began 1216, increasing across quickly. At 1219 it began dropping quickly. By 1236, overflow on left & right spillways. 1240 looked down a little but picked up again 1243. Drool at 1244. It was all across 1245. Dropping 1246. 1257 overflow right & left spillways. Dropped back 1300, still dropping 1305. Headed back up 1312, with drool all across. Dropping by 1319. Overall, runoff reaching to bottom of terraces near boardwalk with each drool. Standing water near boardwalk from left of sign & to the river. Some wind off and on, with only one large burst (microburst).
17683 11 Jun 2021 @ 0837 --- TheHikingDude Pool was 4 inches below overflow and all sides of the pool were gently boiling. Saw one boil go up around a foot.
17536 07 Jun 2021 @ 1049 --- Polly Terraces partially black, but with an orange runoff channel flowing to the front right. Oblong’s pool has headed down right now, but overflow from last fill is reaching close to the boardwalk.
16082 12 Sep 2020 @ 1038 --- TheHikingDude 2 in below overflow
15366 04 Aug 2020 @ 1500 04 Aug 2020 @ 1610 Janet Jones It seems to be having good overflow and bubbling from two spots in the pool - calling these a push. Pushes seem to happen about every half hour - but I only had 3 data points, so more observations would be helpful.
13769 18 Sep 2019 @ 1414 18 Sep 2019 @ 1755 Polly Cycles (overflow, drop, overflow) varied from about 10 to 29 minutes. Some of the cycles produced good overflow, but I only saw drool a couple of times. (Part of this might be due to wind & steamy conditions.)
13768 18 Sep 2019 @ 1413 --- Polly Oblong’s terraces have whitened up considerably from my last observation. (Some Oblong eruptions have been reported recently.)
13580 05 Sep 2019 @ 1516 05 Sep 2019 @ 1530 Polly Terraces in front have black areas. I could see a little light flowing water up front from a previous overflow. I saw one fill during observation time that was very short-lived and didn’t produce much flow over the edge.
13578 05 Sep 2019 @ 1340 --- Janet Jones Oblong looks like it’s lost many of the microbe mats. Addition: discussing it with Polly, the lightness I noticed is likely due to dry sinter.
13364 23 Aug 2019 @ 1440 23 Aug 2019 @ 1511 EmilyW Only push I saw was incredibly weak and not exciting
13290 16 Aug 2019 @ 1903 --- RMichaels Post-eruptive.
13068 06 Aug 2019 @ 1025 06 Aug 2019 @ 1045 Brian Pool sitting with exposed islands and no apparent cycling during this observation and also earlier in the morning
13017 04 Aug 2019 @ 1035 04 Aug 2019 @ 1040 William boiling 1-2" from 2 different positions within the pool and overflowing. pool dropped 1/2" by 10:40.
13363 01 Aug 2019 @ 0945 01 Aug 2019 @ 1215 Polly When we arrived, Oblong had lots of flowing water all the way down to the front. At first, it was having pushes (including a second push) about every 15-20 minutes. I saw "drool" at 1013, 1036, 1055, & 1122 (strong). After the push at 1122, the pool dropped and at least 6" of rock was visible on the left edge. This time the rise was a slow one, until I saw decent overflow at 1145. On the next rise, it had drool at 1150, then headed down at 1202. (This is similar behavior to what I saw last year. If so, if all continued well, it may have had an eruption within about an hour. We opted to leave, get some lunch, and go to Beehive, though. No eruption was seen this day.)
12824 27 Jul 2019 @ 1420 27 Jul 2019 @ 1735 Polly Oblong’s pool was full on approach. At 1445, overflow was reaching the right front of the terraces. In general, Oblong was cycling with anywhere from 20 minute cycles to a couple of fairly deep drops and a couple of stalls. The drop at 1544 lasted about 20 minutes. The drop at 1617 came after a fairly strong overflow. (May have had “drool” but cloudy sky & hard to tell.) I could see maybe 8-9” of exposed rocks during this drop and I could barely see the water. It rose fairly quickly to about 2-3” of exposed islands, then stalled until ~1640. It had a push at 1648 and again at 1718. I hoped that the osprey catching a fish might be a good sign, but Oblong dropped after that push, then stalled a few inches down again.
12823 27 Jul 2019 @ 1259 --- Polly From the Inn parking lot, I looked up from what I had been doing to see a large amount of steam at Oblong. The steam stopped shortly after that.
12418 25 Jun 2019 @ 1355 --- Polly Oblong is steamy, with a steamy runoff into the river. Colors in the front runoff channel: orange, red orange, black, green.
11131 29 Apr 2019 @ 1408 --- Polly Oblong’s terraces have orange and white spots on the southeast side, but are gray on the northeast side. There are some small spots of water running down to the front with stronger overflow to the right side. Seems to be cycling, but too steamy to tell.
9426 02 Aug 2018 @ 0815 02 Aug 2018 @ 1005 c.barwin Arrived at Oblong just after a fill and waited 25 minutes until the next one. Using the 'islands' as my gauge, pool level didn't drop as low as I've seen in years past. Water levels didn't move until about 3 minutes before the 'islands' were fully covered. The level was sustained for under 2 minutes and water was drooling over many edges. The next fill was 25 minutes later and was a tad better than the previous - lasting just over 2 minutes and flowing over the edges rather than drooling. The next fill was 28 minutes later. I left and didn't make it back in time to see the peak of the next fill and just missed it - about 25 minutes. And the last fill I watched was about 22 min. The fact that Oblong may be resuming a rhythm of cycling up and down and overflowing from most edges appears promising.
9411 02 Aug 2018 @ 0816 --- JSJ In overflow.
6368 14 Sep 2017 @ 0815 --- Graham Refilliing, can see water in pool but below normal drop level.

4834 08 Aug 2017 @ 1434 --- EmilyW Pool about 1.5 feet down. Erupted recently
4652 01 Aug 2017 @ 1903 --- Kevin L A possible Oblong was spotted on the cam by Eric at 1544
4649 01 Aug 2017 @ 1704 --- deanl post-eruptive - maybe an hour ago
4575 29 Jul 2017 @ 1736 --- Kitt B Kitt was told the duration was only 3 minutes.
4447 11 Jul 2017 @ 0955 --- Kitt B Oblong was empty.
4204 04 Jun 2017 @ 1329 04 Jun 2017 @ 1354 EmilyW Oblong down 1329, up 34, coming down 35, down with islands exposed 36, started up at 40, fully up at 42, started coming down, down at 45. Started coming up at 47 then was fully up at 50. Was fully down at 1354. Cycles were 10 minutes long each. Pushes when at the top seemed to be very weak. Much weaker than previously observed over the last week. Boiling and overflow seemed normal. Though the pushes lasted a very short amount of time about a minute. Did not seem very enthusiastic about erupting
4189 03 Jun 2017 @ 1931 --- EmilyW Pool empty, erupted recently
4031 02 May 2017 @ 1200 02 May 2017 @ 1700 Polly 10 then increasing to 14 minute cycles, with quick rises of the pool to overflow. Light to heavy boiling on most overflows. Overflows lasted 2-3 minutes. Pool went down when boiling occurred. Wind gusty at times. No eruption as of 1700.
4028 02 May 2017 @ 0909 02 May 2017 @ 1020 SteveO Water started pouring over the rim, doming boil 6 inches to a foot and did not erupt. Water dropped 3 to 4 inches. 0926 water pouring out both spillways, big sizzling boil near big spillway 2 to 3 inches. Normal drop in water level after that. 0939 water spillway over the rim, level dropped just a bit and sizzling boil in 2 spots to 3 to 4 inches. Normal drop in water level after that. 0953 water spilled over the rim, dropped back just a bit and sizzling by small spillway for 2 minutes as water level dropped. 1005 water spilled over rim, sizzling boil in 3 spots, boiled bigger as level dropped. 1020 repeat of 0909 excep for a normal level drop.
